handy herbs

Investing in potted herbs from your local grocer or farmer's market is a great way to have fresh herbs on hand. You'll also save yourself money and the hassle of running to the store every time a recipe calls for fresh herbs.

If you are limited in space or are just getting started, an herb I recommend is "Italian Large Leaf Basil".

Pinch off large or damaged leaves when you bring it home and use or discard those leaves. The pinching off will encourage the growth of new leaves. I also recommend transplanting the potted plant into a larger container or the ground to keep your plant happy.

I'll share with you the recipes I make with this basil very soon! What are your favorite basil recipes?
